Looks like ESPN has changed their site format. If you click on Michael Caffey's name it gives a little more detail. He has a tendency to play too fast, the same was said about Casper coming out of high school. If we can get Ronnie Stevens we would have a team in a few years that Paul Westhead would envy.

FKA may prove to be lucky or smart as a fox, if LBSU has any change in conference (lets say, goes to the WAC) or the Big Worst adds out of Cali members (lets say, Utah State, NMSU, Hawaii) then he can just pass a major new athletic fee that is necessary due to the increased costs of having to play in this new conference alignment.

OK its a reach but you have to spin when the spinning is good.

Although I'd much rather see FKA just come right out and say "We want to have, hands down, the best athletics program in the Big West, and be competitive in the majority of our sports on a national level in a given year. That is why we are instituting a new student athletics fee. Transfer applications to CSUDH and CSULA, along with a year's supply of bus tokens, are available to anyone who doesn't like this new plan. I have a waiting list of 50,000 qualified students waiting to take your place and pay the new fee. So shut up and pay up!"

We would rule this Conference. This is that elusive power forward type we have been waiting for. Could you imagine a line up of....

2. Hunter (freshman
3. Thomas (freshman)
4. Stevens (freshman)
5. Shepherd (soph)

Shepherd seems to be the outgoing/ leader type so having him with one year under his belt would be ideal. JT would also be a year older and wiser to the system. It has to be enticing for Stevens to know that his familiar (Hunter, Caffey) and skilled teammates will be locked in with him for a looong time. His parents/relatives/friends would be a short drive to see him play (Gardena) This class would be the most highly rated since the Tarkanian days and definitely the closest (age wise) and most rounded to Monson's Gonzaga team that made their tremendous...

5-9 Sophomore Janisa Johnson and 6-6 freshman Haleigh Hampton are something special, Johnson's athletic ability is amazing, she can pound kills as an OH, dig hard on defense, and blocks like a 6-3 MB. Hampton is just huge and more athletic than I thought she'd be. She looks to have a fierce side which I bet comes out strong by her Jr. year. The young 6-1 Jr. setter Ashley Vasquez looks like a potential big time player as well. This year the team should make some noise, next couple of years they might be top 10. BG was in typical form, pulled a yellow card and still kept giving it to the judge. Decent crowd too.

As for MBB news, saw LR, Casper, Plater, and another player I couldn't identify.

allow our coaches to compete, improve facilities and for gawds sakes allow for the building of some type of buildout facility at George Allen. UC Davis started a small buildout football stadium and now they are being mentioned for a conference upgrade? They took baby steps and now those are transforming to leaps and bounds. It is not rocket science. Raise fees, build it, and the unknowing brats will thank you later when they become educated once their degree becomes relevant once again.

I never thought that I would use the business model of a d2 team like Davis and apply it to LB, when they we're duking it out with LR's new team on the sprawling campus at Stanislaus State.

Is this a bad dream?

Football reigns supreme

All the reshuffling in the NCAA today is football related. Why are us alums at LB so interested as it doesn't involve us? Are we excited for the scraps that may befall us? Why not be proactive? I know it's hard without a football program, but a good salesman (AD) can go a long way. Times are a changin and a conference better than the BW will come a callin, but, by the time they come a callin, the BW might be the better choice to stay. FRUSTRATING!

Also, supposedly like Nick Shepherd, some of the higher ups we're starting to take notice of Hunter. Hope we caught Thunder & Lightning in a bottle. Exciting time for all of the new kids. Monson extention equals stability, great players already in place, rec center opening (two little interlocking LB logos on the gym floors is kinda sad, but a start for branding) and a nice campus to boot.

It has been a roller coaster ride this off season. It will be well worth the wait, if we cut down on mindless turnovers and improve our free throw shooting. Also, many players to follow (that we're once linked to LB at one point) to see how they are doing.

Just got my season ticket renewal offer in the mail today. Nice to see the bball season is on the horizon! Ticket price went up back to the levels of a few years ago, I'm not complaining though I don't mind the extra price because I think the team is on the rise and the foundation is pretty solid.

you can still get extra cheap family packs $125 for 4 endzone seats, then halfway through the game go find a seat back and chill. If I didn't really like my section 115 near the floor seats, I'd take advantage of that killer deal.

Should have traded Kemp and got value before he got pussy whipped. The guy just doen't give a shit. Should have upped the ante for Loney/ Adrian Gonzalez when you had they had the chance. Russell Martin... I don't care if you can call a game or not, his bat sucks. What ever happened to a power hittting catcher? Casey Blake is good, but the Paul Konerko trade haunts and for Adrian Beltre? Torre is use to auto drive with the Yank's. Mattingly is not the answer. Ethier is the only stand up player and Loney is like a Garvey, good bating average, but eventually Garvey hit for power.
